Data Connections
Overview
In order to see all yellow dots there must be connections between the three main elements in Pipedrive. Those three elements are Deals, People, and Organizations. There should be a triangle between the three, with connections between each corner.
Frequency
Connections between the Person and Organization only need to be made once. If you find yourself adding the same information multiple times then there is probably a duplicate that needs merged.
Deals need to be connected to the Person and Organization every time. That said, if the Person is already connected to the Organization then it will autofill when you connect the Deal to the Person.
Activities are similar to Deals. The connection needs to be made each time, but connecting the Person will autofill the Organization if the Person and Organization are connected.
Missing Connections
Deals
The main issue with missing connections is that Yellow Dots will not show up on the Deal. Specifically, if a Deal is only connected to a Person but not an Organization then the the Deal won't move forward. This is because there is required information on the Organization that needs completed, and a missing connection to not make that requirement go away.
Person
The same is true for a missing Person on a Deal or a Person not connected to an Organization. The triangle must be complete for the Deal to move forward.
Activity
At a minimum, Activities should be connected to a Person and Organization. If there is an active Deal with that Person and Organization then the Deal should also be connected (now it makes a square).
If the Person and Organization are not connected to an Activity then the Unique Meeting Count will be inaccurate. We can only measure Unique Activities if we know who you are meeting with. Without that information it is impossible for it to be the first meeting in a quarter.
