Display Mode

Microsoft 11 has several different monitor configurations. Below is information on how to find those configurations and what each configuration will do.

Where do I find it?

Win+P

To choose your display mode press the Windows Key and letter P at the same time. You can do this from anywhere, as long as the computer is on (even before you log in).

You'll see the menu below when you push Win+P. Next we'll talk about what each of the options.

Display Mode Options

PC screen only

This setting will ignore any external displays and only use the built-in, laptop screen.

Duplicate (aka Mirror)

This setting will show the same thing on every display (internal and external).

Extend (most common setup)

This setting lets you put something different on each display connected.

Second screen only

This setting will ignore the built-in, laptop screen and only use external displays.
